About Us

Buying a PEMF machine isn't particularly easy.

The products can look remarkably similar while costing anywhere from a few hundred dollars to tens of thousands. Manufacturers use different terminology. Specifications aren't always presented in the same way. And once health and wellness claims enter the conversation, it can become difficult to separate what a product does from what someone hopes it might do.

That's why we built this site.

Our goal is to create a practical, independent resource for people researching PEMF equipment—whether you're looking for your first home mat, comparing higher-end systems, buying equipment for a professional practice or looking into PEMF for an animal.

We Focus on the Buying Decision

We aren't here to convince everyone that they need PEMF.

We're here to help people who are already researching it make sense of their options.

That means looking at the things you actually want to know before spending your money:

  • What does the machine do?
  • Who is it designed for?
  • How much does it cost?
  • What's included?
  • Is it portable?
  • Is it intended for home or professional use?
  • What kind of applicators does it use?
  • What does the warranty cover?
  • What does the manufacturer claim?
  • What does the research actually support?

Sometimes the right answer will be a relatively inexpensive portable device.

Sometimes it might be a premium full-body system.

And sometimes you may discover that the extra features on a more expensive machine aren't particularly useful for what you want to do.

That's useful information too.

We Separate Products From Promises

PEMF is an interesting area of research, but it's also a wellness market.

Those two things don't always move at the same speed.

A manufacturer may discuss research involving PEMF generally even when that research wasn't conducted using its particular machine. A study involving one condition doesn't prove that PEMF works for another. And research involving technologies such as TMS shouldn't quietly become evidence for a consumer PEMF mat simply because both involve magnetic fields.

We try to make those distinctions clear.

When good human research exists, we'll tell you about it.

When the evidence is early, limited or involves a different technology, we'll tell you that too.

And when something is a manufacturer's claim, we'll treat it as a manufacturer's claim rather than presenting it as established fact.

How We Review PEMF Products

When researching a PEMF company or product, we look at available information from the manufacturer along with relevant independent sources and published research where appropriate.

Depending on the product, we may consider:

Price and value — including what comes with the system and whether additional applicators or accessories cost extra.

PEMF specifications — including frequency, intensity and available controls when those specifications are relevant and publicly available.

Ease of use — because a sophisticated machine isn't particularly useful if it's so inconvenient that you stop using it.

Product format — including mats, coils, pads, wearable devices and full professional systems.

Warranty and support — particularly for equipment costing several thousand dollars or more.

Research — especially when a company makes claims relating to health, pain, sleep, recovery or other specific applications.

Who it's for — because we don't believe there is one PEMF machine that's automatically best for everyone.

How We Make Money

Some of the companies and products featured on this website have affiliate or referral programs.

If you follow certain links from this website and make a purchase, we may receive a commission. It doesn't increase the price you pay.

Affiliate revenue helps support the research, writing and operation of the site.

It also doesn't mean every company with an affiliate program gets recommended—or that we won't cover a company because it doesn't have one.

You can read more in our Affiliate Disclosure.

A Note About Health Information

This website is an educational and product-research resource. It isn't a medical practice, and our content isn't a substitute for medical advice, diagnosis or treatment.

PEMF research varies considerably by device, intensity, frequency, protocol and the condition being studied.

We take that seriously.

If you're considering PEMF because of a medical condition, injury or persistent symptoms, talk with an appropriately qualified healthcare professional. The same applies to veterinary care if you're considering PEMF for an animal.
